REFLECTIVE:
Reflective writing is another element commonly found in descriptive writing. It can be summarised into:
- experience
- analysis and performance evaluation
- reflection (drawing lessons from).
For example, if you were asked to write reflectively on your experiences at university during your first year, you might develop your writing as follows:
- note down your feelings and problems during the year
- write down the options/alternatives you had
- record how you dealt with each problem
- state what lessons you learned from the experiences
- evaluate your progress towards achieving your study aims.
